The C4OA Discussion Board’s Carson City Coin of the Week – 111-Week Project debuted in September 2009. Each week a group of dedicated C4OA “COWboys” (as they’ve been known to call themselves) profiles one of the 111 different date-and-denomination combinations available in a complete set of Carson City coins. Each coin’s profile is complete with a descriptive article, comments from fellow members, and even images.
The ultimate goal is to have profiles for all Carson City coins at the end of the 111-week period—a weighty accomplishment for this little non-profit organization. Right now (February 1, 2011), the COWboys have completed 72 of the 111 pieces, with the last post profiling the 1870-CC Liberty Seated half dollar.
