Carson City newspapers in the 1870's was created by Belayoff
Does Carsonite or anyone else know whether the local Carson City newspaper from 1870 through the mint's closure can be accessed on line?

If something like this were available, it would have made my research work a lot easier over the years. To answer your question, NO, there isn't a source to access archived issues of Carson City newspapers online.
The only way you can browse through old "CC" newspapers is to visit the Nevada Historical Society in Reno or the Nevada State Library in Carson City. None of the Carson City newspapers from the 19th century are indexed. You must read through every line on every page when searching for your subjects of interest. This is all done on microfiche readers (very few copies of the original newspapers are available).
Happy searching.
