New call for volunteers!

Hi Everybody!

I'm sure all of you have read Rusty's note in the latest issue of Curry's Chronicle regarding the ongoing need for volunteers to keep the club operating and growing. I've only been a member for the last year, but I'm amazed at how much I've learned over that time, and I feel like I've just scratched the surface. So, I want to do what I can to help out. And, I want to put out the call to the rest of the club to think about how they can help as well, even if it just a little bit.

You've heard that Bruce Thayer has stepped up to coordinate the meeting in Carson City this August. I've already chatted with Bruce and I'm going to help out with the raffle. I've got lots of ideas, and we can do this on a small scale for the people attending, or we can even do it on a larger scale to build more awareness of the club, and make it a great fund raiser. This is just a start.

There are plenty of other areas to help out. Everybody needs to spread the word about the club and encourage others collectors to join the club. And, we can get more involved with helping to create Curry's Chronicle either with planning, or helping to get advertising. We can do more frequent club updates by e-mail. We can help out others by coordinating people to help with research. We can add more information to the web site. The list goes on. There are things that are simple for a single person to work on, and for some bigger projects, we can get a few people working together.

So, I've told Rusty that I'm willing to step up and help out even more. If you are interested, and you have ideas, reply to this thread to spur more discussion. I'll work with Rusty to continue to build the list of ideas, and help match up people to areas where they are interested. Also, you can contact me directly by email at mikejwagner "at" gmail.com and we can discuss more.

I'm really getting excited about the club. Let's work together to help it continue to grow!

Thanks!
Mike Wagner

I understand the urgency. I dont know what I can do from Chicago. I dont have the ability to travel right now so I can't attend the meetings.

Don't worry about being remote. If you are interested in helping out, we'll work something out. You'd be surprised how much you can do just from your computer. For now, we're collecting ideas and trying to prioritize them. And, we'll get the folks who are willing to volunteer to start discussing. You can contact me directly by email at mikejwagner "at" gmail.com.

Thanks!
Mike
