We constantly track all sorts of analytics on the CCCCOA Web site. These include visitor traffic,
unique visitors (one person who has come to a website in a specified time period. If one person comes to a website five times during the day he will only be counted as one
unique visitor for that day), number of registered users, number of messages posted by each registered user, etc.
The analytics report also includes a statistic called
Bounce Rate. This reflects the amount of time the average visitor spends on the Web site. If a site has a
Bounce Rate of 100% it means visitors "bounce off it" as quick as they land on it. A good
Bounce Rate is below 50%. The CCCCOA Web site
Bounce Rate averages about 22%, which means people who visit it spend a long time on it after they land. So at least for some people we have a site worth browsing.
One group of members who prove over and over again they appreciate the site are the club's top posters. Below is a chart showing the top posters on this site from the time of its launch in May 2009 through July 18 2010:
If we could get 30 more members to reach this level of participation we would have a very active Web site—and our
Bounce Rate might drop to an unprecedented 7% to 10%!
