I was very fortunate to have timed a visit to Southgate Coins at the numismatically historic moment when Rusty owned THREE 1876-CC twenty cent pieces at the same time. I was further honored to have been allowed to personally inspect each of them as they were laid side by side on in front of me. Below is an image of one of the twenty centers I studied that day along with some of the coin's amazing diagnostic features;

I clearly recall Rusty pointing out at least one other interesting diagnostic on one of the coins. The feature was a thin and squiggly, raised line which looked like a trapped hair under the surface of the metal in the rough shape of an "S". Such a feature is more likely to fall into the "anomaly" category, rather than signifying a possible variety. Regardless, it was sure interesting! Unfortunately, I don't have a photo of that particular feature. Perhaps Rusty has an image or two of this diagnostic that he will post for our edification.
