Recently, I was made aware of an interesting aspect of the current coin market. While gold has skyrocketed, the price of most gold coins has not. Why is this?
At least part of the answer is that dealers have substantially reduced their margins on generic gold coins. Even with the high price of gold bullion, many gold coins are selling for less than they were a year or more ago!
Anyone have a take on this issue?
