Comments on the Coin of the Week Project

Dear C4OA Members,
With beginner/intermediate numismatic knowledge and experience, joining the Carson City Coin Collectors Club has been the single most productive step I have taken as a serious coin collector.
In particular, the "people resources" within this club have meant the world to me and remain one of my most important sources for all things CC related. I decided to write articles for the Carson City Coin of the Week project because I knew I would learn a lot from the research I would have to do. But just as importantly, I hoped that I would get back as much or more knowledge from the replies and responses of other C4OA members, novices and seasoned collectors included.
Accordingly, I and my fellow Coin of the Week writers invite every C4OA member to share a little or a lot by posting a few thoughts, comments, opinions, arguments, or whatever tidbit or factoid you might have about each week's subject coin. Even if all you have to add is "I have a VF-25 of this week's coin" or," I just sold my AU-50 last month for $1,500", etc., etc. Anything and everything you can add helps create momentum for general information sharing.
For this collector, the C4OA discussion board offers an invaluable, classroom-like experience each week about everything Carson City related. Let us know if you are enjoying the Carson City Coin of the Week articles and please consider posting a few comments of your own each week.
Respectfully.... Belay Off

I totally agree with Belay Off's assessment of this great forum. In doing my research for the upcoming coin of the week it is amazing on what I have learned. Not only just about the coin of which I have yet to acquire, but of the history associated with the time frame the year the coin was produced. To me the coins are an extension of the history of that time. Go CC's

Hi Belay
You just put into words what I have felt for a good while now. I have learned so much about my own coins by doing these posts. I'm also seeing a steady improvement in the writing/posting skills of all the writers particularly within this last year.
This is a most special project containedwithin a most special site....I'm convinced that when it's all completed, it'll go down in "CC" history!

Drummer,
When the complete works of Curry's Chronicle are eventually put together into one reference book, it might be fun to include copies of all the Coin of the Week posts as a fun chapter by itself.
