All,

Thanks sincerely to everyone for your many kind words and for allowing me to honor my father's passing on our club web site. In addition to being a great pool player, he got heavily into metal detecting in the last half of his life. He has literally hundreds and hundreds of coins found by electronic detecting, which he became extremely proficient.

We were detecting in a park in Canada, near the ferry landing that brought people up from the States during he Canadian gold rush.
Almost 18 inches deep, my dad located two 1850'5 seated quarters
and a lump of pure gold about the size of the first joint on a man's thumb. They were all sitting right on top of one another next to a huge shade tree. You can imagine the fellows dispair when he realized he's lost them...likely while napping under that tree!
