Belay-
Increcible stuff! You have again extended the Belay seal of excelence that you have exhibited throughout your COW articles with this one on the 1871-CC eagle. Your fact filled and no stone unturned research is a testement of your admiration of Carson City coin collecting. You are to this club, a true gem. Not many that read the COWs know what goes on behind the scenes as far as, not only the writing, but the orginizing of the whole project, how much you were the main hub of it all. For if it were not for you, this project might not have seen a completion.
One comment on the fractional gold, I have one in a quarter dollar denomination. You made mention of the many varieties that there were and I reckon mine is one. The one that I have, I don't remember the date right now, but it is a PCGS graded MS 63 and is a double die, the doubling is very obvious. But I paid no more that the going rate for a coin of that date, so I never thought of it unique. From what you said about fractional gold, varieties happen.
Thanks again for your most informative articles, your contributions to this project, and your dedication to this club.
I remain respectfully a fellow member and friend,

Belay,
So I am reading through your article and am wondering when you will have the "Rian's Bequest" set noted on your collections holders?
Your contributions, efforts and actions for the CCCCOA have been truly appreciated by all who are involved in the C4OA and also to the members and visitors to this forum.
The information contained in this one article alone is "worth it's weight in Gold"!
I am hoping your passion for everything Carson City continues into the future on this Forum and in Currys Chronicle and that it does not end here with the 111-week project, you have some major talent inside of you that needs to be shared with the rest of the Carson City collecting World!
Best,
Deepsouthspike

I third the sentiment! But expand it to say many, many of you have talent and to keep writing. Coin history and personal stories about your collecting experiences. All of it!
