I just wanted to say thanks to Drummer for setting up the dinner arrangements Friday night at the Nugget's steak restaurant across the street from the old CC mint.

The gathering of 15 or 16 C4OA members and a few spouses at the dinner was absolutely delightful and was full of good will and energy. Lots of CC "shop talk" among a group of good people sharing time together. I'm really glad I was able to attend.

The coin show itself was a bit jammed as it was confined to a slightly smaller space than in prior years. As expected, the incredible Carson City minted coins displayed at the Southgate Coin's booth was worth the price of the trip all by itself. Rusty treated us to examinations of a few number one extant, CC examples in both gold and silver. WOW is all I can say.

I did not expect to buy any coins over the weekend but ultimately upgraded two Carson City dimes that were talking to me from under the glass at Southgate's table. Rusty generously gave me full credit for the prices I had paid for the two upgraded coins, which
I had purchased years ago from Southgate. Thanks Rusty!

I'm off to visit Virginia City today with the Drummer.

Thank you to Belay, Maryelise, Loosechange and everyone else who made this "impromptu C4OA" meeting/dinner the great success that it was.
But I surely cannot take all the credit here....I must thank the incredible generosity of C4OAers Larry and Linda Martin for their amazing contribution to our club by buying us all dinner! That's right..you read me correct....Larry and Linda (in a surprise announcement) paid entirely for all our delicious dinnesr at the Steakhouse located in the Carson Nugget Casino across the street from the "CC" mint/NV state museum building. Since we were all treated to this nice surprise, we had a large empty salad bowl put forth on the center of our table where donations for our C4OA club were made. We raised an astonishing $465.00 towards a most worthwhile cause...our club!
So...a great big thank you goes out to everyone for their generosity.
The night was a total blast! The meeting/dinner was the very embodiment of the spirit of the C4OA...the very principles on which it is was founded.
For those who missed, we missed you too! It was truly a great and special evening.

Please allow me to voice my appreciation as well for the Martins' generosity. No one expected to have their steak or seafood dinner paid for by another member. What a surprise. Just goes to show what kind of folk populate this great club!

Maryelise,

We had a terrific day, though we only scratched the surface. Drummer and I will conspire to write a Curry's article about the weekend.
