The image is a little fuzzy, but my first impression is that the coin is one of the Chinese fakes.

I just finished an appraisal for a local customer who bought 25 of these fake Chinese Trade and Liberty Seated dollars on eBay and overstock.com.

I told him that he should have been suspicious when he purchased one 1884 and two 1885 Trade dollars for less than $100. I told him that if these three coins were real he'd have approximately $2.5 million in his hands—yeah sure!

Everyone needs to be extremely cautious these days. Please refer to Michael Fey's article on fake "CC" coins in the spring 2009 issue of Curry's Chronicle.

Yes, I posted elsewhere and everyone to a tee said it was a fake. I did not buy it, but I could have. Crazy. First attempt to buy a Trade for my basic set. Need to study more before I even think about buying raw on the net or in hand. Thanks.
