Vamworld.com on its home page discusses a different VAM every week. Currently it is featuring the 1893-CC VAM 2, which is the business strike version of the same die marriage that was later used to strike the 12 known branch mint proofs.

The coin is identifiable by a mintmark that tilts to the right and horizontal die lines in Liberty's hair. The late die state, which is pictured on the home page, shows a significant clash mark at the right wreath, which on the obverse is the V joining Liberty's neck with the bonnet.

More pictures are at the date page:

I wish I had one of these as the dies used for the proof coins later made some great coins.

I have a 1921 in PL that made have come from a proof die and was loking at a Peace dollar that cam from a proof die and they were great coins. Would love to see some of the 93-CC vam 2's.

There are three Peace dollar varieties that are from Proof Dies. Thiose are VAMs 1F, 1G and 1H.

I own one of the business strikes from the Satin Proof dies, 1H.
