Thanks Mike. Do you have a closer pic of the obverse? Is there a die gouge at the top of the inside of the eye? Might be a VAM 3 or VAM 17.

Yep the die gouge is there. Here is a pic of the VAM 17 mint mark. I think this is yours, Mike.

Do you see the little line inside the second C? If yours has that then it is a 17. If not it's a 3. Very nice coin. Great color. One of my goals is to get a '78-CC with the mintmark touching the wreath. An interesting one is the VAM 6.

The whole mintmark is shifted to the right. The employee probably forgot he was punching two mintmarks and put the left C right between the bow. Very cool also.
