Hi Belay Off
If you've never been to VC then you have a special treat in store for you.
Back when I made my first visit (over 30 years ago), many of the stores and museums contained some of the original "priceless" relics...most of those are long gone now to private collectors but there's still a tone of great things to see and do....you'll love it!
I almost always stay there when I'm in the great northern NV area...this coming August, make a point of coming up and we'll all do some exploring!

Every time I've been to the Reno/Carson City/Virginia City Area, I always make it a point to browse through the "Mark Twain Bookstore" in Virginia City and the CC Mint/Museum Store. Lots of great stuff there. After an almost 3 year search, I recently scored an original check signed by John W. MacKay. A very difficult find.

Dan,
If you are able could you post a picture of the check in the Ephemera section on the board?
Thanks!

Hi Randy
If you own a computer - and a printer/scanner, it's real easy to begin posting nice pics of your own.
If (or when) you get the above set-up, Google has a free photo program called Picasa 3...it's an easy, safe and free download. On this Picasa site you'll be able to store all your pictures...organize them in different files and perform "photo fixes" on them.
Once you get to this point, let me know and I'll show you the easy to use "code" that will enable you to post multi-photos for any of your future posts and articles to this C4OA blog site.
You already write great articles...now you can add the "icing on the cake"
