Hi all C4OAers

Thanks for the info on Douglas Winter's web site. I just finished reading his article.
I definitely know who the buyer is regarding that incredible 1873-CC $5 PCGS MS-62 (finest known)....it would not be proper for me to reveal any names for the sake of confidentiality. I can say that it IS in fact a fellow C4OAer and that is very good news. Perhaps the buyer of that amazing coin will reveal all the details for themselves.
I don't know about the other two amazing "CC" half eagles (1879-CC and 1878-CC $5) or who may have purchased them. Like you guys, I'm hoping that it's someone who is a member of our fine club.
