If you’ve had your nose buried in the most recent edition of Curry’s Chronicle, you should already know that this August is going to be a very eventful month for C4OA. Only two weeks after we have our annual meeting and Carson City Coin Symposium in Los Angeles on August 6th at the 2009 ANA World’s Fair of Money, we’ll also be having a 2009 C4OA Carson City Regional Meeting at the Carson City coin show, hosted by the Nevada State Museum.
If you haven’t already gotten the information about the C4OA annual meeting from the summer issue of Curry’s Chronicle, please check it out here in the News & Articles page of our club website. We are hoping for a big turn-out this year. The club has scheduled some great lectures for the meeting this year. Don’t miss out!
WITH GREAT PLEASURE, I have the honor of announcing the news that C4OA was given a website for its members. We are one of the most fortunate clubs to receive this special gift and I hope all the members will appreciate it.
Rusty Goe, our president, built the site, knowing that our club was not able to afford such a luxury. Besides all his other duties, running Southgate Coins, writing articles, scheduling lectures, editing and printing Curry’s Chronicle quarterly, Oh, and finding some of the rarest Carson City coins on the planet, he sacrificed several months of his time to design and build a website for C4OA!
I (Marie) invite you to enjoy the new website. It has great features which are available, such as a news and articles page, images of some of the finest coins, and helpful links.
The C4OA website is linked with our blogsite, which has been in operation for several years, thanks to Otto Klay. The blogsite allows members to post news, comments, and coin images.
The new site also has a discussion board that allows members to discuss topics of interest. I hope these two features allow lots of enjoyment and camaraderie as a community of Carson City coin lovers.
This new website should give our club a real opportunity to share the exciting joy and passion of our great love of Carson City coins. We will need to have older members help new members to learn how to use these features so we can have maximum participation.
We give a hearty thanks to you, Rusty, for dedicating so much of your time and resources toward creating a platform for all of us to be a part of.
