Garryn, obverse photo per your request.
Long scratches are on the right near her foot. What look like scratches on the upper left, head, and hair are actually on the holder, not the coin. (Not thrilled with the holder scratches.)
I'm just going to put this out there... If anyone thinks something looks wrong about my coins, please say so. Stuff happens, and I'd rather know about it then not. Both coins are in holders, one NGC, one ICG, but that doesn't always mean they are what they say they are.

Thanks for your expertise, Garryn!
You're in IL, correct? Whereabouts if you don't mind me asking. Wish I could've met you at the ANA Show, but I was tuckered out by Saturday.
My hubby and I live near Elgin.

Hi Maryelise
I will try to offer up a few things here if I may:
Dealer Pricing mark-ups: A very touchy subject indeed...so much depends on the coin, it's rarity or specialty or the difficulty level for the dealer to obtain. I don't think there's actually one standard "mark-up"...it all depends on the coin so this one is better left answered by someone more qualified.
Pertaining to your dream "CC" set. It sounds to me like you desire to build a Ten-Piece "CC" Type set - or - one example of every coin that the "Carson Mint manufactured.
Here's my idea of that set.
Grades your choice (in your case, all NCS "Details" coins:
Parameters for set;
1. All ten different dates, no duplicates
2. one coin each/first year issue (1870) and final year issue (1893)
3. At least one *Top 25 coin (*from the Mint on Carson Street - Rusty Goe)
4. One US Centennial issue (1876)
5. At least one major variety (1878-CC quarter-semi-cancelled die variety would work)
6. One "with arrows" coin
7. Each of the three gold coins from a different decade of "CC" mint production so that all three decades are represented.
A few coins will offer you only one or two choices for date due to affordability...one of those is the "CC" twenty center. There are only two twenty-cents dates. Due to the severely high cost of the 1876 issue, you have no choice but to assign 1875 to the "CC" twenty cent piece.
Given those parameters, here's my choices for an ideal "CC" ten-piece type set:
1. DIME 1877-CC (affordable)
2. TWENTY CENTS 1875-CC (only choice)
3. QUARTER 1878-CC (semi-cancelled die major variety)
4. HALF DOLLAR 1874-CC with arrows (a "with arrows" issue that's affordable)
5. SEATED DOLLAR 1870-CC (the most available and affordable of the four "CC" seated dollars and a first year of issue coin)
6. TRADE DOLLAR 1873-CC (a *Top 25 coin *from TMOCS by Rusty Goe)
7. MORGAN DOLLAR 1884-CC (a very common date - opportunity for a high grade nice eye-appeal coin)
8. $5 GOLD 1893-CC (fairly available and affordable and a final year issue - also a 90's decade representative example)
9. $10 GOLD 1881-CC (available/affordable and an 80's decade representative example)
10. $20 GOLD 1876-CC (A U.S. Centennial issue and a 70's decade representative example)
There are many ways to build a worthy "CC" 10-piece type set and this is only one of many....I do like these choices as they cover a lot of parameters.
I hope you like!

Drummer, my head is spinning... :side:
This also means I've screwed up two dates, possibly three, should I decide to go this route. Sigh.
But I do love the recommendations! Thanks!

Hi Maryelise
You cannot possibly "screw-up" by having "CC" coins!
You can still build a great 10-piece "CC" type set and have other "CC" coins too...nothing wrong there....I think you are off to a great start.
My type set idea is only one of many...you might just come up with your own methodology...no one way is better than any other.
Be it ever so humble, you have in your possession beautiful antique rarities from one of the greatest periods of mankind's history ever! So few members of the human race own what you have. You have some coins to be very proud of.....again, a great start Maryelise!
