Just Buy the CC Coin

Yes, Loosechange, CC coins ARE like potato chips...

I have been "clean" as they say for at least a week now. I think. I stopped counting. From my CC coin buying habit, that is. I am not allowed to buy again until my birthday in April. :(

Boy is my husband in trouble once April comes though. I so desperately want a Trade Dollar, Half Dollar, or Twenty-Cent CC coin! Those were the coins I had my eye on, just within my reach, before my "intervention." (As well as The Drummer's suggested 1884 Morgan, in as high a grade as I can afford. But I'd rather have something I don't already have...and I have a CC Morgan Dollar.)

Here are the images of my last CC coin purchase, an 1875 Dime, Above Bow. The detail is better than the pics show.

I'm not sure if my nervous twitch is from the coffee, or because I'm talking about CC coins again.

Hi Maryelise

Beautiful picture of your 1875-CC above bow seated dime....I also love the picture of your cat! We have two little klazy kats ourselves and love 'em!

Hurry up April!

Hi all!

I hope I'm not driving you nuts, but it's question time again. Pretend you're in school, but this time you're all my teachers! At least I'm an eager student.

I'm 100% sure my 1878-CC Morgan Dollar is a VAM-24. But since NGC graded it AU Details, I'm wondering if I'd be wasting my time (and money) resubmitting for a ReGrade and VarietyPlus (been doing my homework ;) ). The VAM-24 is #21 on the Top 100 VAMworld list: www.vamworld.com/Top+100+Morgan+VAMs . It's a neat discovery for me!

My other question is about my 1877-CC Quarter. Initially the CC on the back was bugging me, so I have looked at a huge number of reverse pictures to see if I could find a match. I did, and I feel much better now. But then I came across an FS-301 option for it while registering my collection on NGC, and I'm curious about it. I can't view the information on NGC without paying for a membership, which I'm not ready to do yet. Does anyone know where I can find out more online, for free? I have searched high and low.

Thanks! Happy Friday!

A very nice 75-CC above bow dime Maryelise. Searching for VAM's on "CC" dollars is a lot of fun also.

Thanks, Loosechange!

My dad called yesterday, so I rattled off some specs about my VAM-24 discovery. He said, "Listen to my daughter talk the talk!" It was very sweet.

Hi again Maryelise

There's an incredible site called "VAM WORLD" and shows VAMS of every single Morgan dollar - every date, every mint.

The site includes great pics and much other info...give it a try, see what you think. perhaps you already know of this site.

I store this site in my "favorites" - "coins" listing

Here's the link: www.vamworld.com/Morgan+VAMs+By+Date
